Research and Development Management (RDM) Consultancy Pvt. Ltd is a social impact consulting firm; established in 2009 by dedicated individuals and professionals. RDM is led by a young working cohort, most of whom are development professionals with diverse academic backgrounds. RDM specializes in offering consulting services in Governance and Institutional Development, Sustainable Development, Private Sector Engagement and Media mobilization. RDM has wealth of experiences in Project Cycle Management, Capacity Development, and Policy Analysis, Agri- business Development services, Preparing Strategic documents and Project evaluations for its client. RDM grew out of the need to cater a wide range of project management services to development organizations and private companies in a professional way. RDM believes that aspiration for systemic changes can only be realized if improvements are sought in performances of organization; adopt correct procedures and mobilize people power. Hence, its products and services are designed to improve performances, strengthen processes and empower/mobilize people. RDM also provides opportunities for young graduates and experts to use their valuable time and knowledge for better performances. As a matter of policy, RDM reinvests its operational income into upgrading the institution and conducting further research of implementing development projects aiming to strengthen the overall project management ecosystem in Nepal.

Innovation: RDM applies innovation in all three planes of project cycle management- design, implementation support and evaluation. Innovative methods of inquiry give shape to all the knowledge management products developed for clients by RDM. 

Confidentiality: RDM adheres to strict criteria for understanding clients’ requirements and managing confidential information. The client will only have sole authority to decide on the usage of the information, data, agreements and other program logistics in consensus with RDM.

Evaluation, Research and Development

 One of the core areas of RDM is Research and Development. Since its establishment, RDM has commissioned many qualitative researches in areas of labor migration, informal workforce, gender and social inclusion, disaster risk reduction, Child Protection and Development, Women and Development, and Media and Development. It uses instruments such as consultants’ roster, advisory panel, full-team membership and subcontracts to increase its pool of expertise with respect to demands of the assignments.

Most of these interventions are executed through training programs while we also use other measures such as counseling, knowledge sessions, and coaching. Our intervention programs include:

Formulating Plans, Policy and Strategy:

 RDM's major strength is to support formulation of policies, plans and strategies for a wide range of organizations -public, private and foundations. RDM uses management tools such as Forced- Field Analysis, Policy Network Analysis and Political Economy Analysis to arrive at the suitable policies and strategies. Besides, RDM has in-house experts to lead the policy review, policy formulation, developing position papers and strategic plans. 

Cooperative Governance and Business Development:

RDM has a wealth of experience in cooperative governance and management. RDM has provided governance related training to both production-oriented cooperatives as well as savings and credit cooperatives.
